Local Solutions Endorses Meserve
Local Solutions gave its endorsement Tuesday to incumbent Dave
Meserve in his run at re-election to the Arcata City Council based
on Meserve's .
Local Solutions is a political action committee that helps to
elect candidates for public office. In a statement, spokesman Dennis
Huber said the committee chose to endorse Meserve because, “Local
Solutions is committed to supporting local leaders who have the
courage to speak with a loud and clear voice on all important issues,
both local and national. ... Dave has shown his willingness to
be that kind of leader.”
Meserve was glad to have the endorsement and echoed its emphasis
on the importance of both local and national issues.
”I'm proud to have it,” he said of the endorsement. “The
main focus of a city council is to act locally but it would be
absurd to say that we live in a vacuum and are not affected by
national issues.”
