LOCAL SOLUTIONS ENDORSES MESERVE FOR ARCATA CITY COUNCIL

- Local Solutions announced today that it has endorsed incumbent
Dave Meserve in his bid to win re-election to the Arcata City Council.
The decision to endorse only one candidate was made after much
discussion, for two reasons, according to Dennis Huber, spokesperson
for the political action committee.
"Local
Solutions is committed to supporting local leaders who have the courage
to speak with a loud and clear voice on all the important issues,
both local and national.Now, more than ever, we need representation
by elected officials who are not reluctant to take on the critical
issues that affect us all. The burden and costs of wars, global warming,
loss of civil rights, and peak oil realities are impacting our world
in dramatically serious ways, and must be addressed by leaders at
every level of government. Dave has shown his willingness to be that
kind of leader," said Huber.
The Local Solutions Board, consisting
of Patrick Riggs, Alice Woodworth, and Kaitlin Sopoci-Belknap
as well as Huber found all other seven candidates for the Arcata
Council worthy of support, with each bringing skills and ideas
that will benefit the city. "We look forward to hearing the issues discussed
by such a diverse group of committed people in the course of the campaign.
Whoever is elected will be an asset to Arcata's city government".
