LOCAL SOLUTIONS ENDORSES EUREKA
CANDIDATES FOR NOVEMBER ELECTION
EUREKA - Local Solutions announced today that it will endorse
Eureka City Council challengers Larry Glass, Ron Kuhnel and Nan
Abrams, as well as incumbent Mayor Peter LaVallee. No endorsement
was made in the Humboldt Municipal Water Board election.
"We were impressed by the knowledge and commitment of the candidates
we endorsed in the Eureka City Council races", said Dennis Huber,
Local Solutions co-founder. "Their election will bring a
new era of political leadership to Eureka at a time when vision
and innovative thinking are required to take us forward in a
rapidly changing world. We encourage all Eureka voters to listen
to these candidates so that they too will be excited about supporting
them this fall. Combined with the re-election of Mayor LaVallee,
they will provide Eureka with dynamic leadership at a critical
time."
Endorsement interviews were held during the past week with candidates
for both the Eureka and Arcata races. All eight Arcata Council candidates
were interviewed , but only the challengers requested endorsement
interviews in the Eureka City Council races. Local Solutions will
announce its endorsements for the Arcata City Council races later
this week. It does not expect to be making any other endorsements
for local races during the fall campaign. It has previously announced
its support for Bonnie Neely in her bid to win re-election to the
Board of Supervisors.
